Poker is a casino game in which players compete to win money. The game begins with an ante, which varies by game, and the players then each bet into a central pot. The betting process begins with each player placing a bet, which may be either one or more chips. The player who places a bet first is known as the “first” player. This is because slow-playing hands allow other players to make their hands and call bets. As the game progresses, a player may find themselves tilted after taking a big beat.
